Our initiative promotes sustainable agriculture as a pathway to food security, employment, entrepreneurship, and community development. We support young people, women and smallholder farmers with practical knowledge and skills in climate-smart farming, sustainable production, agribusiness and value addition. The initiative also encourages young people to view agriculture as a viable and innovative business opportunity rather than only a subsistence activity.
What this includes
How It Works
To improve agricultural productivity, food security and household incomes while creating sustainable livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth and women.
We use a practical, community-based and youth-led approach that combines agricultural training, climate-smart farming techniques, entrepreneurship, mentorship, demonstrations, peer learning and linkages to agricultural opportunities and markets. We encourage participants to apply the knowledge gained through practical farming activities and locally appropriate agribusiness initiatives.
The initiative strengthens farmers' knowledge and skills, promotes climate-resilient farming practices and creates opportunities for young people and women to participate in profitable and sustainable agricultural enterprises. It contributes to improved livelihoods, food security, environmental sustainability and greater youth participation in the agricultural sector.
Young people, women, smallholder farmers, youth-led agricultural enterprises, farmer groups and vulnerable rural communities.
